- Chicago Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble CALJE was formed in efforts to fuse the musical treasures of Afro-Latin American music and Jazz as well as musicians from Chicago's diverse Latin and Jazz community.

- Kokolo American Afrobeat from the Lower East Side of New York City.
- Chicago Afrobeat Project CAbP has an original vision of breathing the intensity of Chicago's rich music scene into the infectious sounds of afrobeat.
- Fandanguero The foundation of Fandanguero originated from Son Jarocho, a traditional musical style of Veracruz, Mexico is called Sotavento. It represents a fusion of indigenous (primarily Huastecan), Spanish, and African musical elements, reflecting the population which evolved in the region from Spanish colonial times.
